The Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) in Events Management is designed to give the student a broad knowledge of events planning, execution and post-event analysis. It has been developed on the fundamental assumption that the student is entitled to acquire profound theoretical and practical knowledge to enable him/her face the challenges associated with events management business. To this end, emphasis is placed upon the professional education of the entire individual and in providing him/her with effective strategies to boost performance in his/her career.
Objectives
The EMBA programme in Events Management seeks to:
- Help students acquire managerial and leadership skills, customer service skills, presentation skills, team work, public relationship skills and good communicative skills needed for planning, execution and evaluation of events..
- Expose students to integrative, interdisciplinary and dynamic nature of business and managerial processes.
- Prepare candidates to successfully, professionally and ethically plan, market and implement different types of events as individuals or as part of a team.
Scope
The EMBA programme in Events Management cuts across various areas in business and industry. Students will complete relevant courses in related areas in addition to project report in their areas of interest.
Entry Requirements
Candidates for the EMBA programme in Events Management shall have the following:
- Minimum of one year working experience in the industry.
- Bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in any relevant discipline.
Admission is twice in a year: April and October.
Mode of Study
The mode of study for the EMBA programme in Events Management shall be by course work, organisational case studies, annual attendance of the School’s international conference, and case project report.
Duration
The duration for the Executive MBA programme in Events Management shall be four (4) semesters. This is a weekend programme comprising one (1) contact per month over a 5 month period for each semester.
