Programme Info
The Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) programme in Environmental Management is designed to produce personnel versed in both the theoretical and practical skills necessary for combating the contemporary multifaceted environmental problems occasioned by anthropogenic and natural activities. Appropriate reservoirs of knowledge geared towards proactive response to environmental problems will be developed.
Objectives
The EMBA programme in Environmental Management seeks to:
- Develop and train highly skilled environmental managers equipped to tackle broad spectrum challenges in the areas of environmental management, conservation and restoration.
- Promote the acquisition of theoretical and practical approaches in environmental impact assessment in development projects such as rural large scale industrialisation, dam construction and mega highway construction.
- Inculcate the spirit of awareness and make environmental management central to imbibing attitudinal behaviour towards the protection of our environment.
Scope
The EMBA programme in Environmental Management cuts across various areas in business and industry including soil science, geography, geology, urban and regional planning, chemistry, hydrology, meteorology, biological sciences, among others. Students will complete relevant courses in addition to project report in their areas of interest.
Entry Requirements
Candidates for the EMBA programme in Environmental Management shall have the following:
- Minimum of one year working experience in the industry.
- Bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in any relevant discipline.
Admission is twice in a year: April and October.
Mode of Study
The mode of study for the EMBA programme in Environmental Management shall be by course work, organisational case studies, annual attendance of the School’s international conference, and case project report.
Duration
The duration for the Executive MBA programme in Environmental Management shall be four (4) semesters. This is a weekend programme comprising one (1) contact per month over a 5 month period for each semester.
