Master of Public Leadership (M.PL)
Programme Info
The Master of Public Leadership (MPL) programme is designed to equip students with the requirements for public leadership in the twenty-first century. Tools and techniques to enhance strategic thinking and decision making in the public sector are the emphasis in this programme.
Objectives
The Master of Public Leadership programme seeks to:
- Expose students to specialised knowledge in system thinking for public leadership.
- Enhance students’ ability to understand public leadership in shared power settings.
- Promote ethics and accountability in public leadership.
Scope
The Master of Public Leadership programme cuts across various areas in the public sector. Students will complete relevant courses in financial sector-related areas in addition to project work in their areas of interest.
Entry Requirements
Candidates for the Master of Public Leadership programme shall have the following:
- Minimum of one year working experience in the industry.
- Bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in any relevant discipline.
Admission is twice in a year: April and October.
Mode of Study
The mode of study for the Master of Public Leadership programme shall be by course work, organisational case studies, annual attendance of the School’s international conference, and case project report.
Duration
The duration for the Master of Public Leadership programme shall be four (4) semesters. This is a weekend programme comprising one (1) contact per month over a 5 month period for each semester.
Employment Opportunities
The Master of Public Leadership programme will equip students with the knowledge and skills to successfully promote good governance in the public sector. The programme trains them to occupy positions of responsibility in public sector organisations.
